Organisational Structure

The chair and secretariat of the NWP, for the period 2021-2026 hosted by the Department of History & Art History of Utrecht University, rotates between the participating institutes every five years.

Major decisions of the N.W. Posthumus Institute are taken by the General Board of the NWP, convening twice a year. The General Board consists of holders of chairs in economic and social history at participating institutions.

Daily affairs of the Institute are dealt with by the NWP Staff, consisting of NWP’s Scientific Director, NWP’s Education Programme Director, and NWP’s Office Manager, in close cooperation with the Executive Committee of the NWP.

The educational responsibilities of the NWP lie with the Education Programme Director, supported by the Educational and Examination Committees. The PhD participants in the NWP programme are represented by peer representatives.
