N.W. Posthumus Institute PhD Training Programme
The PhD training is offered by the N.W. Posthumus Institute to PhDs who are affiliated with one of the participating institutions. The training contributes to the successful completion of dissertation projects in the domain of Economic and Social History. Next to the regular PhD Training Programme, the N.W. Posthumus Institute also organises additional events and opportunities to support PhD candidates and help them prepare for their academic career.
PhD Training Programme
The PhD training programme of the N.W. Posthumus Institute covers the entire period of the dissertation project and exists of two parts
The Basic Training
Comprising roughly the first 14 months of the programme and consisting of three seminars and an assessment in the course of these 14 months.
The Advanced Training
After the student has completed the Basic Training, the Advanced Training is tailor-made to suit the individual interests and requirements of the PhD student. This part of the programme aims at assisting the PhD student to position him-/herself as a colleague in the national and international community of researchers in Economic and Social History and other relevant disciplines.
Additional Events
Next to the Basic and Advanced Training, the N.W. Posthumus Institute also organises events that may be of interest of PhD candidates and/or Research Master students, such as:
