Call for Papers and Panels 2026 NNI Conference ‘New Netherland and the World’ (Albany, USA, 7-8 November 2026) – deadline 1 April 2026)

The 2026 annual conference of the New Netherlands Institute (NNI) will be held on 7 and 8 November 2026 at the New York State Museum in Albany, New York State. The organisers We are seeking proposals that address this year’s theme, ‘New Netherland and the World’.

For over three decades, NNI has helped cast light on America’s Dutch roots. In 2010, it partnered with the New York State Office of Cultural Education to establish the New Netherland Research Center.

Those who would like to propose a paper or panel for this conference, should take into account that the audience is a mix of academics and laypeople; presentations should therefore be engaging and about 15 to 20 minutes in duration. Proposals for a paper presentation should include a short CV and a 1 page summary of the presentation, including a title. Panel proposals (3 paper presentations and a moderator) should include short CVs for each presenter and the moderator as well as a 1 page summary of each paper. All proposals should be submitted by e-mail ultimately by 1 April 2026.
