Call for application Tresoar Fellowship 2026 – deadline 7 November 2025
Tresoar and the Friends of Tresoar stimulate a new generation of researchers of Frisian history, literature, culture and/or literature. Together they established the Tresoar Fellowship. Every year a stipend is made available to a young academic from home or abroad. This allows an innovative research project of up to three months to be supported. Candidates of all disciplines and nationalities are welcome. All interested parties for the 2026 call can submit a proposal now.
Tresoar and the Friends of Tresoar together make an amount of 12,000 euros gross available as a fee for the selected fellow. In addition, travel and accommodation costs can be charged up to a maximum of 1,500 euros. The stipend can be awarded as a self-employed allowance to the fellow (assuming that the fellow can be regarded as a self-employed person) or as a secondment allowance to the employer of the fellow (if the employer wants to cooperate with this).
The fellowship is open to who graduate academics who graduated after 1 January 2015. The Fellow is expected to conduct innovative research into a (sub)topic from one of Tresoar’s main themes (Frisian history, Frisian literature, Frisian culture) and actively use the Tresoar collection. The Fellow is also expected to give a public lecture in Tresoar and to write an article about the results of the research and offer this for publication in one of the Frisian scientific journals, such as Us Wurk or De Vrije Fries.
Proposals may be written in Frisian, Dutch or English and must be submitted before Friday 7 November 2025. There will be an online information meeting for the Fellowship 2026 on Thursday 3 July 2025, at 4 pm.
