The Roosevelt Institute for American Studies is pleased to offer 2 full PhD scholarships within the project ‘In the Shadows of Slavery: Free Black Citizenship and Democracy in Antebellum America’, sponsored by the Stichting Praesidium Libertatis I and supervised by Professor Damian Pargas, in conjunction with Leiden University. The scholarships will run from 1 January 2025 through 31 December 2028. Applications are open until 8 November 2024 at 17:00 CET (extended deadline).
